About: Smile Lab is a Dental Clinic with more than 30 years of existence, located in the centre of Lisbon. Our team is composed by 8 clinicians and 4 dental assistants. We deliver comprehensive and personalized high quality dental care. Our team of experienced clinicians work together in an interdisciplinary way to achieve the patients’ goals and expectations and deliver the best high quality dental treatment. We use state of the art equipment both in prevention, diagnosis and treatment phases, and work with senior experienced and talented dental technicians. We work every day to make our patients smile before, during and after the treatment.
Intern Responsibilities: The internship will include one student for a period of 8 to 10 weeks. The student will go through all the clinical departments, interacting with the different dental specialties. He will witness the daily clinical and management work flow and will be part of it. Work will be assigned to him on a weekly basis according to his knowledge and capacities. By the end of the internship period, the student should understand how the diagnose is achieved and all the steps needed to perform a treatment plan. Should also be able to identify all clinical fields of dental Medicine and understand as well how the clinic is ran regarding the management perspective including patients, materials, lab work and others. The time frame for this program will be from the 1st of May to the 29th of June of 2018.
Qualifications: Students interested in public health, medicine, and dentistry should apply. Work responsibilities will depend on classes taken and general knowledge and experience in these fields. Basic Portuguese and/or Spanish skills would be an asset.
